Changes to Product Availability
We wanted to let you know that the FourteenFish Consult product will be gradually phased out.
From 12th June 2025, it will no longer be possible to purchase new credits.
Any existing credits can still be used, but please ensure they are redeemed before 14th October 2025 as they will expire from that date.

The absolute limit for a recorded consultation on the FourteenFish platform is 1 hour.
However, you are probably reading this page because you are interested in what the rules are for the RCGP RCA exam.
Ultimately the rules for this are set by the RCGP, but we have had some clarification from them which we will summarise here.
The assessor will basically start a 12 minute timer after any time spent on the following...
- Waiting for the patient to connect
- Checking the patient can hear or see you
- Getting consent for recording (only needed if the consultation was recorded outside of FourteenFish)
- Verifying the identity of the patient
The examiners will then apply the 12 minute rule from that point, and then stop watching or listening to your consultation after that time.
Example
Here is an example timeline for a 14 minute video consultation...
Only the green 12 minutes will be assessed. You can find a PDF version of this timeline attached to this page.
