Our advice to all RCPsych users is that only one Review Period exists on a user's Training Map at any given time and that a new Review Period is not created until after the ESR sign off has been completed for the open one.
Educational Supervisors
Once an ESR has been signed off, the Supervisor will be prompted to create a new Review Period for the Resident Doctor. This can be done by clicking on Add a review period:
If the Stage of Training continues, then you just need to add the next Review Period to take the Resident Doctor to the proposed end of Placement / next ARCP date / for a 6 month period, as appropriate.
If the Resident Doctor is moving to a new Stage of Training, please add this before adding the new Review Period.
NB Green Arrow: It is very important to set the Previous Review Period accurately, (if the last Review Period was marked CT1-2, the new CT2-1 Review Period's Previous must be set as CT1-2), as this pulls through PDP goals to be actioned in ongoing training.
If Supervisors are known these can be added from the drop down lists. If not the Resident Doctor can add these at a later date (see Resident Doctor section below).
It is not possible to add Review Periods with more than 1 month remaining on the open Review Period.
Resident Doctors
If an ESR has recently been signed off and the Educational Supervisor has not created a new Review Period, the Resident Doctor will be able to create themselves a new Review Period in the same way the Supervisor could from the Training Map (as shown above).
If your Supervisors has created a new Review Period but not added the Supervisors, or added the wrong ones, please go to the Training Map. At the top of the page the correct Supervisors can be added/edited (This screenshot shows where to click on the pencil icon, to edit).
College Tutors or Programme Directors
It is currently possible for a College Tutor or a Programme Director to create and edit a Review Period, but this will not be the norm as Resident Doctors own their own portfolios with the Royal College of Psychiatrists and can perform these actions.
