RCOphth: My Review Period is Locked

If you see the below banner, it means that the Review Period you are currently viewing is locked following an ESR sign off: 

In order for you to continue adding entries, you will need to have a new Review Period created - see our help article on who creates this here.

How to switch to a new Review Period

• Click on Switch to or start another review period which will take the you to the Training map area
• If there is a new, open Review Period, this will be shown by a grey lozenge, which the you can click on
• Underneath the training map, it will bring up the details of this Review Period with an option to click on View.
• This will take you into the Portfolio area of the new Review Period (where learning logs/assessments/percentages will have been reset to 0) and you will see a banner with a clickable option to Make this my current Review Period

How to create to a new Review Period

• Click on Switch to or start another review period which will take the you to the Training map area
• If there is no new, open Review Period then you will see an option to click on Create a new review period underneath your Training Map

How can Supervisors view entries in locked/past Review Periods?

The Supervisor will need to be linked to the Trainee's current Review Period (see our help article on this here). Once the Supervisor is linked, past Review Period details can be found via the following areas:

• All entries page: this lists all reviewed Learning Logs, completed Assessments, PDP reviews, ESR Forms across all Review Periods
• Curriculum Coverage page: this shows the percentage of the Learning Outcomes achieved by the trainee. This can be filtered/viewed via a specific Review Period, Level (or Stage of Training) or across all of the trainee's Review Periods
• Requirements area: this shows a table with a break down of all the required entries and what the trainee has completed (Assessments/MSF) 
• Training Map: Usually previous ESR reports can be accessed by clicking on the green lozenges and selecting View but please be aware that ESR reports cannot currently be viewed in report form (as of 05/03/2025) but our Development Team are looking to fix this.
