When is a Learning Log considered locked?
A Learning Log is considered locked once it has been shared with, and reviewed by, a Supervisor.
Can my Learning Log be unlocked?
The RCGP have advised that requests to unlock/delete Learning Logs should only be approved in certain circumstances.
Below we have included common requests and whether we can action these:
-
I have included identifiable information
FourteenFish can unlock Learning Logs in order to remove identifiable information. Please raise a ticket with us confirming the title / date of the Learning Log and where the identifiable information has been included. We will then remove the information for you and let you know when this has been done.
- I need to change my linked Capabilities
Although trainees do not have the ability to make changes to Capabilities once the Learning Log is locked, the Supervisor will have this option if the Learning Log is in an open Review Period. You can send a message to your Supervisor on the entry to ask them to do this
-
I need to add more information/make changes to the Learning Log
If you wanted to add extra information to an entry / amend details that is not due to identifiable information, FourteenFish won't be able to unlock the Learning Log.
Reviewed Learning Logs that are incomplete can be left on your Portfolio without issue, and you can create a duplicate of them to change or add information.
If you do create duplicates, we would recommend stating in their titles that they are duplicates, and also that you ask your supervisor to raise an 'Educator's note' on your Portfolio to explain the duplicated entry. This duplicated entry will also need to be reviewed by your supervisor to be counted as part of your current review period.
Please be reassured that Educator's notes on trainee's portfolios are a common occurrence to explain duplicated entries or errors, and this won't cause you any issues in the future.
