The type of ESR can be changed on the ESR preparation page. Only the Educational Supervisor can do this, not the trainee.
Setting the review as interim or full ESR
When the ES first goes to this page, they will be asked if this is an Interim ESR or not. If ’No’ is selected then a full ESR will be required. If ‘Yes’ is selected then an Interim ESR can be completed.
If the ES later realises that a full ESR is required, or they are asked by the ARCP to do a full ESR, then if they go back to the Review page, there will be the option to ‘change’ the ESR.
If the ESR has been signed off as an interim and the ARCP request a full ESR, please contact support as the ESR will need to be unlocked to allow the ES to ‘change’ the ESR type.
Setting the review as final ESR
If the trainee is in ST3 and they have already had one ESR and are nearing their CCT, the system will ask them if this is their final ESR. If ‘Yes’ is selected then the ESR shown will be for the final ESR (this should be selected even if they think the trainee requires an extension). If they select ’No’ there will then be the question as to whether this is an Interim ESR.
If the ES has clicked the wrong review type, then again, go back to ‘change’ and it will allow the ES to toggle between final and not final ESR.
