Editing Learning Logs
What if the Supervisor thinks another capability can be linked?
Unlocking Learning Logs
Once entries such as Learning Logs have been reviewed by your supervisor, they are considered 'locked' to any further editing or removal. Once an entry is locked, we have been asked not to unlock or remove them, unless in certain circumstances at the request of the RCGP. These circumstances are most commonly related to patient-identifiable information that needs to be removed from a Learning Log.
Please don't worry though - reviewed Learning Logs can be left on your Portfolio without issue, and you can create a duplicate of any Learning Logs to change or add information if necessary.
If you do create duplicates, we would recommend stating in their titles that they are duplicates, and also that you ask your supervisor to raise an 'Educator's note' on your portfolio to explain the duplicated entry. This duplicated entry will also need to be reviewed by your supervisor to be counted as part of your current review period.
Please be reassured that Educator's notes on trainee's portfolios are a common occurrence to explain duplicated entries or errors, and this won't cause you any issues in the future.
