The Interim ESR is not currently available on the new trainee Portfolio. This is due to some amendments that need to be made before the assessment is added to the system.
Along with other WPBA changes, the new Interim ESR was designed to reduce the burden of assessment for trainees and trainers. This was designed in line with the old trainee ePortfolio.
The new Trainee Portfolio reduces a huge amount of work required in preparation for the ESR for both the trainee and the Educational Supervisor. We are still keen to reduce this as much as possible for the interim ESR. Due to the changes to the system, we will be amending how the Interim ESR works slightly. It will be based on the existing ESR but will reduce the prep required for the Educational Supervisor but still allow for the review to check that the trainee is on track at the mid way point. The same rules regarding when the interim ESR can be used will apply. The trainee will still prepare for the ESR as usual, providing a rating and evidence for this rating. The ES will then decide if it is appropriate to perform an Interim ESR. If this is the case then they will select this and complete a few questions to confirm that this is appropriate. Once confirmed, the ES will asked to confirm that they agree with the self ratings from the trainee. They will then confirm that the trainee is on target for assessments and the PDP is up to date before submitting the grading.
Due to the required changes, the interim ESR is not currently available but we aim to have this available before December.
