Before your trainee can submit consultations for assessment, they need to be verified by you.
To avoid any delay in submitting consultations for the exam, your trainee will probably share more consultations with you than they need to submit.
What do I need to do?
When a trainee shares a consultation with you, you'll get an email from us. This contains a button to view the consultation securely on FourteenFish. If you don't already have a FourteenFish account, you'll be able to create one.
TIP: You'll need to go through the two-factor authentication process in order to view the recordings. Because of this, you may want to save up a few consultations to verify in one sitting. Once you have gone through the two-factor authentication process, you can view other consultations for up to an hour before you need to do it again.
Once you view the consultation, just follow the instructions to verify it. You can see more detail about the statements you'll be asked to agree, further down this article.
What about previously shared consultations?
If your trainee shared consultations with you before 18th June, you won't get a new email about them. Instead, you need to go into your FourteenFish account, and click the Recorded consultations area on your Dashboard.
Verification statements
You can watch or listen to as much of the consultation as needed, in order to be able to agree to the verification statements. You don't need to go through the whole consultation – just the first 30 seconds is usually enough.
The statements are different depending on whether the consultation was performed via FourteenFish, or uploaded from an external source. The first two statements are always the same.

Consultations will appear as verified
Once you have verified a consultation, it will appear with a green tick in the list of consultations that have been shared with you.
Further details are available in the audit log for the consultation.
What if the trainee has more than one supervisor?
You may occasionally find that a consultation has been shared with you, that has already been verified. This will be because the trainee has shared it with another supervisor who has already done the verification.
The verification process only needs to be done once per consultation. You can see who performed the verification process in the audit log for the consultation.
Giving the trainee feedback on the consultation
Once the consultation has been verified, you can use the commenting feature to give feedback to the trainee.

My supervisor can’t access shared videos through his dashboard, only from the email link and some of these don’t load. It’s quite time consuming for him to go in and out of the emails to do this and worried some will be missed. Is this a problem others are having / known fix?
