This help page is for those trainee doctors (and their supervisors) starting and moving their RCOphth Portfolio into FourteenFish.
The main purpose of this page is to guide you through the process, as a trainee, to invite your supervisor to have access to your portfolio.
This is necessary as you need to send your supervisor learning logs and other areas of the training portfolio as you work through the functions currently available.
Portfolio View:
Once you have access to your portfolio, you will be able to view it under the Portfolio tab at the top of your screen when logged in. Your screen that will look like one of these below:
|
You will need to respond to the Time out of Training prompt before you can access your portfolio, and that will look like this... please select Yes/No as applicable to your circumstances. Please note that the training progression information from your last portfolio will not be visible during the pilot period:
It is advisable to take the time to watch the introductory video linked in the pink banner, to familiarise yourself with the Portfolio before you start.
How to invite your supervisor:
NB: You must ONLY add your current approved RCO supervisor for your current stage of training
Now that you have access to your portfolio, you will be able to invite your supervisor from the link that is to the right of the main overview page. This will give them access to view your portfolio as you see it (this is detailed later in the article under 'Supervisor linking').
Click on the pink Not set text next to 'Supervisors:' and on the following page add your supervisor's contact email address:
On the Sharing your Portfolio page, add the supervisor details and click Invite:
You will then see this page, if your supervisor has a FourteenFish account, if not it will state 'awaiting action' next to their name:
Supervisor linking
As the supervisor you will receive an email inviting you to accept the link invitation from your trainee:
If you have a FourteenFish account already you will receive the following email and be automatically linked to your trainee's portfolio through your Supervisor's Area...
If you do not have a FourteenFish account you will have the option to Accept Invite and then be prompted to create a FourteenFish account. Follow the set up instructions, then set your profession (Hospital Doctor is recommended):
The Supervisor's Area is automatically added to your Dashboard page, and you will see your trainee's name appearing there. Click on the trainee name and you will see their portfolio:
As the supervisor you can only access the trainee portfolio from the Supervisor's Page, the main Portfolio page shows your your personal Portfolio of choice, should you use FourteenFish for appraisal etc.
Queries regarding the use of the portfolio for curriculum/progress tracking will be directed to your RCO or Deanery representative for the period of this pilot, FourteenFish can assist with login issues and intended functionality queries.
